In many cases, Water Walker propellers and their components can be repaired. As long as the damage does not go all the way through to the hollow center of the propeller, it's likely we can repair it. Often blades with thousands of hours of field use have come back through the molds and been immediately put back into service.
We recommend sending in ALL blades in a given set, even if some of the blades do not require repair. In the unlikely event that a blade's tip weight should increase during the repair process, we would have the matching blades on hand to balance as a set. If the tip weight does increase during the repair process, we will balance the matching blades at no extra charge. This tends to get the propeller back on your boat in a more timely manner. Please contact our shop in Montrose, CO for a Return Authorization Number (RA#), or use the form below. A Return Authorization Number (RA#) is required before packages can be accepted. Please mark the RA# assigned to your case clearly on the OUTSIDE of the box. This will ensure that each box is matched with the appropriate person /situation, to insure quality of service. We will contact you with an evaluation upon receipt. Numerous repeated repairs, however, can weaken the structure of a blade. With this in mind, we have decided to limit our blades to one re-tipping (repair) process per new blade. A second such repair (re-tipping) may be done if, upon preparation for the process (removal of old stainless steel leading edge and subsequent inspection), our repair personnel deem the shell to be sound. Repairs (including re-tipping) more than twice will not be considered practical into the future. Please have serial numbers of blades and/or hubs available when requesting an RA#. Serial numbers will help us pre-screen whether a given component has been repaired, and whether it can be repaired again. |
